Design Integration Design Standards Specialist
We are seeking a Design Integration – Design Standards Specialist to support the transformation of building delivery from project-based execution to standardized, scalable solutions. This role partners closely with the Design Integration Lead to develop modular design standards, reusable components, and technical specifications that reduce redundancy and accelerate delivery across complex programs.
The ideal candidate combines deep multi-disciplinary design expertise with a strong bias for action, hands-on modeling skills, and the ability to standardize at scale.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and document modular design standards, reusable components, and technical specifications across architectural, structural, MEP, and MHE systems.
Identify design redundancies, integration challenges, and standardization opportunities through stakeholder interviews, design reviews, and direct observation.
Actively participate in pilot programs and shadow stakeholders across design, engineering, and construction phases.
Create Super-Modules (pre-engineered operational packages) and Mini-Composites (integrated modules adapted to building shells).
Define Building Shell Integration standards and produce detailed processing layouts for storage and MHE solutions (greenfield and retrofit).
Build 3D reference models from PointCloud data for existing facilities.
Prepare vendor RFP drawings and test-fit layouts for multiple design scenarios.
Integrate MHE & storage vendor drawings during firm engineering and resolve clashes/inconsistencies across architectural, MEP, and MHE models.
Maintain sufficient process knowledge to provide backup coverage for Design Integration Process roles when required.
Advance technology enablement by leveraging AI-powered design tools, parametric modeling, and automation to accelerate standards development and validation.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Architectural, Mechanical, Industrial, or Process Engineering.
6–10 years of experience in design standards, design integration, or complex built-environment programs.
Strong understanding of modular design principles and construction standardization.
Experience coordinating across multiple disciplines at a high level.
