Senior Cost Control Engineer
About the Role
We’re looking for a highly skilled and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join one of the biggest multinational E-commerce companies. In this pivotal role, you’ll oversee all aspects of cost management for engineering projects — from the initial calculations to the final figures. You’ll work closely with design teams, construction teams, contractors, and other professionals to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and at the highest quality standards.
What You’ll Do
- Prepare detailed bills of quantities and support tender documentation.
- Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure the best prices and terms.
- Develop and monitor project budgets, forecasts, and cost plans.
- Maintain accurate records of all project-related costs and estimates.
- Provide expert advice on procurement, risk management, and cost-saving measures.
- Review and evaluate tender documents, contractor proposals, and variation orders.
- Monitor project costs, prepare cash flow forecasts, and process interim payments/final accounts.
- Offer commercial and contractual advice to project teams.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- 6+ years of experience in quantity surveying or cost consulting (preferably within the MENA region).
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in industrial warehousing projects.
- Proficiency in cost estimation, cost management techniques, and quantity takeoff software.
- Strong knowledge of construction industry practices, regulations, and standards (NBC, ANSI/ASHRAE, LEED).
- Professional membership in an industry body (RICS or equivalent) is a plus.
- Familiarity with contract administration, AutoCAD, BIM, and contract law.
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver high-quality work on time.
Preferred Skills
- Proficient in MS Office and cost management software.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and communication skills.
- Team player who can also work independently.
